David P. Church, Q.C.
David Church has practiced civil litigation, at
both the trial and appellate level, for more
than 25 years since his call to the Bar of
British Columbia in 1983. Before founding Church
& Company in 2001, David was a partner in
another Vancouver litigation firm and
prior to that he was a partner in a large full service
law firm.
He has experience in a broad range of commercial
litigation disputes in areas including corporate
commercial, insurance and product liability,
intellectual property, construction,
administrative law, securities and employment
law. He has appeared in the Alberta Court of
Queen’s Bench, all of the Superior Courts of
British Columbia, the Federal Court Trial
Division and Court of Appeal. Further, David has
appeared on many notable cases before the
Supreme Court of Canada.
David has appeared before numerous
administrative bodies and tribunals including
the Discipline Tribunal and the Council Appeal
Tribunal of the Institute of Chartered
Accountants of BC, the BC Securities Commission
and the Vancouver Stock Exchange (now the TSX
Venture Exchange). He has also acted as an
arbitrator under the BC International Commercial
Arbitration Centre and under the Investment
Dealers’ Association’s Securities Arbitration
Program as well as other general commercial
arbitrations.
David has lectured and presented Continuing
Legal Education courses and seminars for legal,
business and professional audiences.
David is cited as a leading practitioner in class
action litigation and corporate commercial
litigation in British Columbia.
